I can watch the video, but I don’t have the creator’s retention graph. How do you critique the opening without making up the point where people left?

Describe what you can observe: when the product appears, how much text is on screen, whether the promise gets answered. Call the retention effect a hypothesis.

So “the reveal happens at second 12” is fine. “People drop off before the reveal” needs data I don’t have.

Exactly. The first observation can still lead to a useful alternate edit.
