Toy numbers, but this is the reporting problem: nine posts at 500 views and one at 50,000. Average: 5,450. Would you use that average to budget the next ten posts?

notanaverageDay 1 · 08:55Nope. Median is 500. The breakout accounts for about 92% of the total. I’d show all three numbers, because “typical result” and “total reach” are different conversations.

elliechecksDay 2 · 09:00I’d also keep the outlier visible. Sometimes people fix this by removing the only interesting post from the report. Study it, just don’t promise to reproduce it.
